The Full Moon that we have in Cancer next week is going to be a whopper! It may very well bring many tensions to the surface that have been building as the mega-planets involved continue to square off.
The Moon happens at 22 degrees of the sensitively protective and emotional sign of The Crab, situated right across the street from Pluto with the Sun conjunct to him... The God of the Underworld would be plenty to contend with on his own, as he likes to trot out our deepest unconscious "stuff" into the light of day whenever he's active...but there are also two other heavy hitters to manage. This Full Moon makes a conflicting sqaure asepct to Jupiter making everything bigger and the stakes even higher...and another square angle to Uranus for some lightning flashes and dynamite explosions. Oh boy...here we go...
But lets back up for a second....there's a whole week leading up to this Full Moon, and those days prior matter, too!
As I write this, The Sun catches up to Pluto at 17 degrees of Capricorn. Sun/Pluto is all about POWER and WILL. This aspect can bring out any ways that we are letting ourselves play victim ("why is my life like this?", "no matter what I do...", "I'm stuck in this situation...") and forces us to either own our power, or suffer. This aspect can point out ways in which we feel disempwered...the point of it being to light the way for more creative ways of owning power. Do things HAVE to be like this? Or am I making a choice? PLuto tends to ruthlessly annihilate that which stands in the way of growth, and so breakdowns are possible. But the Sun is our inner Light; it is the the indiviual Will within us that has something special that only we can offer. PLuto as Cosmic Undertaker reminds us that we have only short time on this earth...do we want to spend it hitched to wagons that keep us from our Bliss? (Nope, we don't.)
Mercury goes direct on the 8th!!! Woo hoo!! This should help things move forward with more ease. Yes, its true...as one of us pointed out on the Aepril's Astrology Facebook page, there is the so-called "shadow period" where Mercury goes back over ground already covered. So yes, there will still be some rehashing of plans and re-working of details. But the backwards motion will be over, which means that gears shift. Hopefully we all got what we needed from the 3 week retrograde motion that prompted us to re-envision and re-create. It happens for a good reason, folks...its not intended to just be a pain in the ass! Now we can benefit from our efforts.
We've got a grouping of planets in Pisces that potentially both confuse and enchant. Given the hard-core astrology that we are presently experiencing elsewhere in the sky, I think that we could use the comapssion and connection that this configuration offers. Pisces can be very creative in its approach provided that we don't expect things to be clear necessarily...ride the non-rational waves of intuition and inspiration for maximum benefit.
Now back to the Full Moon...yeah, its going to be a humdinger. Chiron makes a lovely trine from Pisces...but even harmonious aspects can add stress when there is so much else going on. Our wounds really need some healing now perhaps, and it may be crisis that shows us which areas of life need this attention the most.
Saturn also makes a wonky but exact inconjunct to this Full Moon, perhaps making it difficult to feel grounded and capable for a day or two. That said, Saturn can also play a role in breaking up the extreme tension of the Grand Cross that forms with this lunation. He takes his scythe and punches a hole in any false ego inflation that may occur as a shell of defense. And then we've got to just be ourseves, speaking our truth from a more vulnerable, real place. Scary perhaps, but my gosh it takes so much energy away from us when we try to pretend things are different than they are! Better to free it up.
And...intestetingly and fittingly...speaking of weapons that puncture...the card that I chose for us this week is the Ace of Swords! This to me is the card of revealing a truth of some kind, or a major breakthrough of mind. This is using your power my friends! This sword can be used as a weapon to harm, yes...but it can also be used to heal via a simple meditation on whether or not what we think is actually true. Is what I'm thinking about this true? Can I know that 100%? Or am I in a habit of mind? (Hint: the more right and hard lined we get, the more alientated from truth we usually are.) If we can spend time with these questions it can help us take our teeth out of whatever we are currently working through...even for just a moment. A fresh persepctive can go a along way now.
